Lagos APC Has Started 2027 Mobilisation, Because Apparently Election Day Is Already Knocking

Lagos APC has officially started warming up for the 2027 election, and Nigerians, please, the campaign season has entered the group chat.

The party began its mobilisation for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election with an interfaith prayer session at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, where Christian, Muslim and traditional worshippers prayed for Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Obafemi Hamzat and other APC candidates.

Because in Nigeria, before you start asking people for votes, you must first ask God for votes.

Sanwo-Olu reportedly said the party was not taking anybody for granted and would combine prayer with serious grassroots work across Lagos’ 20 local governments and 37 LCDAs. He also reminded everyone that faith without work is dead.

And honestly, this is where Nigerian politics becomes fascinating.

Because every election season, politicians suddenly discover the nooks and crannies of Lagos.

The same politician who has spent four years moving between Ikeja, Abuja, Banana Island and political meetings suddenly remembers that there is a street somewhere in Agege where one woman has been waiting since 2019 for somebody to fix drainage.

Suddenly, everybody wants to enter your neighbourhood.

They will knock on your door with caps, T-shirts, rice, promises, and a smile that says, “My brother, we are all in this together.”

APC says Tinubu deserves another term because of his performance and the reforms of his administration.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Lagos, a Nigerian is probably calculating how much petrol now costs, looking at his electricity bill and wondering whether “Renewed Hope” comes with a payment plan.

But to be fair, the party is taking this seriously. Sanwo-Olu has already said the campaign machinery is being sharpened, while the Lagos APC leadership is warning members against complacency and internal fighting.

So, welcome to 2027.

The posters are coming. The convoys are coming. The slogans are coming.

And very soon, your WhatsApp family group will become a political battlefield.
