Local Barber Opens Waiting List Until 2028
A Lagos barber has stopped accepting walk-ins after booking out his chair until 2028, triggering panic reservations from parents and men who suddenly remembered grooming is an essential service. Analysts say his appointment slots may be the new land banking.

Residents of a quiet Lagos neighbourhood have been thrown into panic after a popular barber announced that his appointment book is now fully booked until 2028, citing "overwhelming customer demand and limited clipper capacity."
The barber, affectionately known as Chairman Fade, made the announcement shortly after successfully giving one customer a haircut that social media users described as "life-changing."
"I can no longer accept walk-ins," he declared while adjusting his barber's apron. "If you need a haircut before Christmas, you should have planned your life better."
According to the newly introduced booking policy, prospective customers must present a valid means of identification, two passport photographs and a non-refundable consultation fee before joining the waiting list.
Long-time customers insist the barber's fame has gone beyond ordinary grooming.
"You don't just cut your hair there," one customer explained proudly. "You experience transformation. People don't greet you the same way after Chairman Fade touches your head."
The development has triggered panic bookings across the community, with parents reportedly reserving haircut slots for children yet to be born.
Meanwhile, rival barbers have accused Chairman Fade of creating artificial scarcity to inflate his reputation.
"He still uses the same clipper as the rest of us," one frustrated barber complained. "The only difference is that he posts slow-motion videos on Instagram."
Economic analysts have since identified the waiting list as Nigeria's newest appreciating asset, predicting that appointment slots could soon be traded like real estate.
At press time, one desperate customer was reportedly negotiating to inherit his elder brother's December 2027 haircut appointment after promising to handle all future family WhatsApp contributions.
