Senator Denies Owning Mansion He Was Waving From
A Nigerian senator has denied owning a six-bedroom mansion — while addressing reporters from the upstairs balcony of the same property. He says the gold initials, marble pillars and fountain shaped like his head are just “coincidences God will judge.”

The Nigerian Senator firmly denied any connection to the sprawling six-bedroom mansion on Tuesday, addressing reporters from an upstairs balcony of the property while a staff member adjusted his agbada.
"I have never seen this house before in my life," the senator said, gesturing for someone inside to bring him water. "These allegations are the work of my political enemies, who are jealous of the humble life I live in the village of my forefathers."
The denial came hours after photos circulated online showing the senator waving warmly from the same balcony, standing beside a marble pillar, two peacocks, and a fountain shaped like his own head.
"That could be anybody," he explained. "Do you know how many senators look like me? Nigeria is a big country."
Pressed on why the gates bore his initials in gold, the senator described it as "a coincidence that God will judge." He added that he had personally never entered the building, moments before instructing his gateman by name to lock up properly before the generator finished fuelling.
Constituents in his district, where the nearest health centre has been under construction since 2016, expressed measured surprise.
"We are not angry," said Mama Nkechi, a trader who has voted for him four times. "We are used to it. Last year he denied owning the private jet he landed in."
At press time, Bello-Danladi had declared the mansion "an insult to poor Nigerians like myself" before retiring inside for his afternoon rest.
